HYDROTHERAPY

Hydrotherapy is a form of water based exercises, often implemented for people to have difficulty completing land based activities.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

When you are in the water, your bodyweight is significantly reduced which allows your muscles and joints to move more easily and with less pain. The water provides resistance which muscles have to work against, this improves strength and helps reduce the stress placed on bones and joints when on land. These sessions are run as a group class, with participants following programs suitable to their needs under the supervision of a physiotherapist. Your first session will be used to determine which level of program you start at, and any modifications that may be required to fit your needs.
