 Clinical Exercise Classes

 Join A Clinical Exercise Class


 

Clinical exercise classes are run by dedicated physiotherapists, designed for anyone who requires improvement with:

  • Lower back pain, hip pain, knee pain, any pain

  • Post injury

  • Flexibility and mobility

  • Balance

  • General strength and conditioning

  • Post- surgery and post joint replacement from hospital discharge onwards

  • Pre- and post-natal

  • General wellbeing

Each patient will have their own individual program which is gradually progressed by the physiotherapist. The program is designed and discussed with clients in an initial one-on-one assessment, used to help tailor the program to their specific goals, strengths, and weaknesses.

Classes run for 45 minutes, with a maximum of 5 clients per class. It is a safe and suitable form of exercise for all ages and abilities.

HPSM utilise a variety of exercise equipment in our newly developed gym, including: Pilates reformers, trapeze tables, weight machines, free weights, and hand apparatus.

Falls & Balance Classes

 Join A Falls and Balance Class


 

Falls and Balance classes are run by dedicated physiotherapists, designed for anyone who requires improvement with:

  • Lower limb weakness

  • Balance problems

  • Recent falls or near-misses

  • Mobility

A circuit style class that can be completed both sitting and standing targeting lower limb strength, proprioception, and static and dynamic balance, to help reduce the risk of falls. 

Classes run for 1 hour, with up to 10 participants. This class is suitable for participants of all ages and abilities, though is targeted at those with lower exercise capacity. Higher level participants are encouraged to join our clinical exercise classes for targeted high-level strength/skill development or use the falls and balance class as an adjunct to their current exercise programs. 

If patients are unable to walk between stations unaided, they are required to bring a support person (at no cost) to assist them. 

No assessment is required however we do require the completion of a medical information form. If you have complex medical needs we advised speaking to your general practitioner prior to commencing the class.

 General Information

 Helping You Join Our Classes


 

What to wear and bring:

Comfortable clothing to exercise in, socks (grippy) for hygiene, towel, and drink bottle. If you usually use mobility aids, please bring these to use during the class.

Cancellation:

We require 24 hours’ notice prior to your class time if you are unable to attend, HPSM reserve the right to charge the full cost for late cancellations.

Payment:

Payment is to be made via the clinic, prior to the first class. You may be eligible for a rebate from your private health fund at the completion of your class or 10 pass. Suitable for DVA and NDIS clients with appropriate approval from your provider.
